Lost Auction Title Recovery

Step 1 - Look up title history

First look up the state of last title, then request the name and address of the owner under DPPA law exception.

Step 2 - Locate the Prior Owner

The title record will have the address on file when the original title was issued. Search for the current location using social media or investigation.

Step 3 - Check for unreleased lien

Even is the lien was signed off on the misplaced title, the DMV record may still reflect the cloud on title.

Step 4 - Send documents for signature

The replacement title will be issued by the DMV when the last titled owner (and lienholder if applicable) signs off on the prepared documents.

Step 5 - Transfer title into your dealerships name

Take the signed duplicate transfer form to your state DMV office, and exchange for new title in your name.
